The Link Between Responsibility, Epigenetics and Health

The words and those responsible for accountability are two words, I feel that need to be raised from the dead. These words should be re-taught, re-learned again promoted and held in high esteem as they once were. Is it me or has realized that our society seems to lose personal responsibility for almost everything? I have personally seen and felt the effects of that in my practice and in my environment, for some time. "It's not my fault" and "have the right" are some phrases and concepts that are literally destroying our civilization, moral, ethical, spiritual and physically. Solution: If each of us just take responsibility for our own little world (family, friends, work space at home ...) the domino effect it would have on our society is more important than 'imaginable. Please do not just think about this idea. Please read this message at the end and act accordingly! Thank you.

Over the past 50 years, the population of the Earth has also seen: global terrorism, global warming, depletion of natural resources, agricultural / overfishing, GMOs, deforestation, mass extinction of wildlife, prescribed and consumed like candy, mandatory vaccines, and epidemics of society as well, morbid obesity, hunger, income inequality and many others. Why all these situations occur? I think one of the main causes is a global pandemic known as "the decline of personal responsibility.

The dictionary has many definitions of the word MANAGER. The first is what I feel I do as a doctor. "Legally and ethically responsible for the welfare of another" When I graduated from college, I took an oath to be responsible for anyone seeking my care, and I feel that I have never violated the oath.

There are two other definitions that match what I feel I do in my personal life. 1) "The participation of personal responsibility or ability to act without guidance or superior authority." 2) "capable of making moral or rational decisions alone, therefore responsible for their behavior."

For the rest of this article, I will focus on accountability in relation to their health. As with all other facets of his life, to be honest with yourself - I can be more responsible. If the definitions above do not apply, inside and outside, go-for-it. The people and the world around you see a positive change and recognized for it - you will be a good example. (See exercise at the end of this email)

Responsibility for our health

It is my personal opinion that the vast majority of people who have health problems, either actively or contribute to their refusal created, consciously or unconsciously condition. You can even ignore the fact that there is a health problem, although negative symptoms are present. Most also it will be the responsibility of one or doctors for general health, to return back to good health (with medication and / or surgery) or to maintain their health to a certain level (with medication and / or surgery) . All this is, at some level, lack of personal responsibility and accountability.

This apathetic and irresponsible society has developed for personal health care, it is extremely dangerous. a huge financial burden for future generations sets, and recognizes hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths and hospitalizations each year. $ 2.9 billion per year ($ 2,900,000,000,000) from 2104, is dedicated to health care in America. That's almost 20% of our GDP and the income produced by France.

The five components take responsibility for their health

Geneticists (doctors who study and research of our genetic makeup, DNA, etc ...) indicates that we reach our genetic potential around 25-30 years. This means that we are at our peak, our first at this age. After that, your body begins to deteriorate. Some of us can go through this process very slowly, while others break down fairly quickly. The rate of deterioration depends on your genetics, slightly. The lion's share, 95%, based on controllable, epigenetic (above) genetic influences - sleep, nutrition, exercise and positive mental attitude. In simple terms, "Epigenetics is the effect of creating, by the level of personal responsibility, you dedicate to creating and maintaining your health!"

Creating and maintaining physical and mental health dynamics is not the sole responsibility of doctors, relatives, friends, Richard Simons, or Jenny Craig. They are part of education. Actually, it is YOUR responsibility to participate in positive epigenetic influences (stress) in your body and your mind. Here are five factors powerful if practiced, robust, with allow you to achieve and maintain long-lasting, vibrant health. First, education is not an epigenetic factor in itself, but is necessary to make four more effective and powerful.

First, there education, learning, knowledge. Ask about food (paleo, blood type, ketogenic ...), anatomy, exercise, stretching, meditation, juice, what it means to be healthy and everything that can help or get to live a longer life and healthy. The second is the dream. Ideally, we need between 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. This is essential to the way we operate during the day. Adequate sleep is also mandatory for key areas such as learning and memory consolidation processes. The sad part is that most of us often do not get enough sleep, even though we know how important it is. Preparation lost sleep sleeping more on weekends or filled with caffeine to stay awake, can actually cause more harm than good.

The long-term effects of not getting enough sleep or disrupt the natural sleep rhythm of the body can lead to negative epigenetic changes in some related weakened immunity and tumor growth (cancer) genes. Other effects caused by lack of sleep are: lack of energy, mood swings and irritability, poor adaptation to stress, a difficult problem to solve, and a lack of creativity.

The third is nutrition. The most important point here is to eat to support every cell of your body, not just for the taste or because it is good business. That said, I'm not a sadist, I'm realistic. Yes, please eat for the pure love of food, good food, once or twice a week. If it does, it is irresponsible in my book. Life is too short to neglect the good things of life, but at the same time too short to reduce your life eating like crap. Juice, food supplements and functional foods are also part of this.

Fourth is exercise. The human body can reshape according to coercion or not facing it. Nothing is more certain. Less than 5% of the adult population of the United States participate in 30 minutes of physical activity per day. And for children, it is much worse. The surest way to develop osteoporosis; arthritis; joint pain; weakness of muscles, ligaments or tendons; a slow metabolism; dementia or Alzheimer's disease is not exercise - including brain exercise too.

Fifth is HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT or positive mental attitude. If you spend much time in an environment (work, home, friends, in-laws, spouse ...) you do not want to be in, because people are chronically negative, invalidating, rude, mean, antagonist, unethical ... to you or others - out! If the conduct unethical or criminal occurs in any way - out! The negative impact that will be created within you, to be in this kind of environment literally eaten alive. This is actually the largest of the four.

The above five components when followed positively and regularly (officials) are proven to strengthen the body, mind and spirit. When the opposite will occur followed (irresponsible), leading to dis-ease and health not optimal.

These five components responsible for their health are made may seem obvious to some, and others that may seem as strange as learning Swahili. For those of you who take personal responsibility for your health, I can validate their efforts. For those who are reading this and saying to yourself, "this makes sense and I'll take more responsibility for my health." I confirm too. For those of you who believe that the body will continue to work without the necessary adjustments to your current status or to believe that all the aches and pains, stiffness, difficulty eating foods that made him when he was younger, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and weight gain are merely signs of aging, and that it is "inevitable" that are wrong or simply uninformed. The good news is that it is never too late to change their current status. Recognizing that there is a problem, and recognizing that positive change is to occur, they are the first steps.
